David Grote's paintings, much to his own surprise, are consistently people-oriented without necessarily being confined to realistic treatments.
They tend to fall into two basic groupings: large-scale works that grow out of a combination of memory and dream, and smaller-scale work that focus on faces or still-life interacting in some way with people. His primary medium is oil on canvas.
His work can be seen at various art shows/sales in San Francisco, CA. He exhibits regularly with the Sunset Artists Society and participates annually in the San Francisco Open Studios.
